Units Session 2020-21Activities of the CAC (Career Advancement Centre) during 2020 – 2021The following new CAC Committee has taken charge with effect from 1st April 2021 for the various different activities of CAC.
Career counselling Services – Both present and passed out students can participate in the career counselling programs where they are guided to select different courses for higher studies. The cell also helps to select them different career option. A Webinar Series on Career Opportunities entitled “Explore the Career Opportunities in Govt. sector and Unlock the Potential in You” were held online in collaboration with RICE Education-Medinipur. The webinar series spanned over four days-27/06/2021, 04/07/2021, 11/07/2021 and 12/07/2021 and a huge number of for the UG 6th semester and PG students as well as research scholars of our college were benefitted by the events. A total of 936 participants registered for the webinar series and 720 attended the events. Scholarship Help Desk where 1st year students of our college obtain information, forms and assistance for filling up and submission of same for various scholarship schemes like W.B Merit cum Means scholarships, SC/ST scholarships, Minority scholarships, Scholarships for PH students, Jindal Scholarships, Nabanna, Sheela Kanoria scholarships, Colgate Scholarship, Jio Scholarship, Priyambada Birla scholarships, G.P. Birla Scholarships etc. A total of 36 candidates of 2020-2021 session were awarded scholarships by CSR, TATA Metallicks which was coordinated by Scholarship Help Desk of CAC Central Computer Centre with Internet is maintained for our present students on all days including holidays for our hostel boarders. Library facilities with newspaper, journals and books for competitive examinations are maintained on all days including holidays for our hostel boarders Psychological Counselling unit continues to function beyond college hours. Here a trained and experienced psychologist and an experienced psychiatrist are available to cater to the mental health of our students. In this pandemic situation, CAC has initiated online psychological counselling sessions with Dr. Nibedita Goswami, an eminent clinical psychologist with an experience of more than 18 years. In this context, a virtual webinar series entitled “Mental health: know yourself better to deal with your anxieties in a better way” was started from 3rd July, 2021. It will be done in a quarterly basis in a year. A total of 510 participants registered for the event. Certificate courses:Students registered for certificate courses in the session 2019-2020 received their certificates after completing the offline examinations. The details are given below:
The following 8 online certificate courses (with duration of 20 hours spanning 10 weeks) are being offered to the UG students of 2nd and 4th Semesters (Arts and Science) from 21-06-21 in the Academic Session 2020-2021. 1216 students have been enrolled in the following certificate courses:
Training and Placement Cell: CAC constantly advertises various job vacancies in the college website of its “Information Kiosk” handle. It also helps to arrange for online campus interviews opportunities for the students as well as off-campus interviews. So far four students of our college have been selected for jobs in WIPRO. |
