Institute Perspective Plan
Criterion 1: Curricular Aspects
- The College has aligned its curriculum with the National Education Policy (NEP), ensuring that all programs and courses adhere to NEP guidelines.
- There will be an expansion in Certificate and Value-added courses, and the curriculum will increasingly include skill-based and integrated programs, especially at the undergraduate level.
- New programs or additional batches for in-demand subjects will be introduced based on approvals from the institution's administrative and academic bodies.
- From the 2018-2019 academic year, the Learning Outcome Based Curriculum Framework (LOCF) will guide the development of new syllabi, with at least one MOOC course required in postgraduate programs.
- Faculty will be encouraged to create content for online platforms and will undergo regular evaluations for promotions based on the Academic Performance Index (API), with continuous support for students preparing for competitive exams provided by the Career Advancement Centre under IQAC oversight.
Criterion 2: Teaching-Learning and Evaluation
- The Examination Section, overseen by the Deputy Controller of Examination and Deputy Registrar, plans to implement online and objective-type internal assessments.
- An LMS/ERP system will be acquired to manage examinations and results, with faculty and staff training provided to ensure effective use.
- An online portal will be introduced for students to submit examination-related grievances and ensure prompt resolution.
- The Innovation and Incubation Centre will be augmented to meet institutional needs and promote entrepreneurship amongst the students.
- The College will establish functional Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions and organizations as well as linkages with distinguished faculties both in India and internationally. These agreements can include faculty and student exchange programs, participation in professional, academic, and administrative bodies, collaborative research, consultancy, joint seminars, workshops and sharing innovative ideas in emerging technologies.
- Industry-Academia partnerships, facilitated through MOUs, are crucial for the institution. Existing agreements with Finray, Qmansys, and Learto-upgrade will promote entrepreneurship among students. There should be one Industry-Academia meet annually also to seek ideas and funds for the development of the college.
Criterion 3: Research, Innovations and Extension
- Faculty members will be strongly encouraged to engage in writing research projects, attending prestigious international conferences, publishing in well-regarded indexed journals, and participating in consultancy services. These activities will enhance the College’s visibility both nationally and internationally. The R&D cell will offer comprehensive support to faculty members interested in pursuing these opportunities.
- Faculty incentive awards will be provided for publishing in Web of Science or Scopus indexed journals, securing research grants, and obtaining funds for college development.
- The College will focus on including reviewers from esteemed institutions or universities for the research journals it publishes. The goal is to get these journals listed in the UGC Care List.
- Plagiarism detection software will be fully integrated into the research process to maintain high standards of research ethics.
- The College will enhance its instrumentation facilities to allow for comprehensive characterization of samples and materials produced by its researchers, as well as those from the surrounding area. Each department will be equipped with in-house research capabilities to support dissertation work and doctoral studies.
- The College aims to establish Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with various government organizations and collaborate with NGOs and community groups to actively participate in civil society activities.
Criterion 4: Infrastructure and Learning Resources
- The college shall always attempt to renovate and modernize existing academic buildings, classrooms, and administrative offices to enhance functionality, comfort, and accessibility. New facilities such as additional classrooms, laboratories, and administrative spaces, to accommodate growing student numbers and evolving academic needs are to be developed.
- Classrooms are to be equipped with advanced audio-visual technology, interactive whiteboards, and high-speed internet, and ensure robust campus-wide wireless connectivity.
- Invest in cutting-edge research equipment and integrate sustainable practices, including energy-efficient systems and waste reduction programs, to support environmental responsibility and efficient resource management.
- Upgrade student accommodation with modern amenities and create recreational spaces like gyms, lounges, and outdoor areas. Ensure all campus facilities are accessible to students with disabilities, including ramps, elevators, and specialized restrooms.
- Upgrade and expand digital resources, including state-of-the-art computer labs, high-speed internet, and advanced multimedia tools to support interactive learning and research.
- Develop the library with digital access to e-books, online journals, and research databases. Incorporate user-friendly catalog systems and comfortable study spaces to facilitate both independent and collaborative learning.
- Resources to be allocated to develop modern, well-maintained laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment across various science and technology fields to improve hands-on learning and research effectiveness.
- Flexible, technology-enabled classrooms and study areas that support various teaching methods, including collaborative work, flipped classrooms, and hybrid learning environments to be developed.
- Support facilities such as career counseling center, academic advising, and psychological counseling services to assist students in their academic, professional and personal development to be established and improved regularly.
Criterion 5: Student Support and Progression
- Enhance the success rate of UGC‐NET/SLET and CSIR exams for students and researchers by offering specialized courses and classes for all postgraduate programs designed to cover the exam syllabi.
- The college also plans to organize pool campus drives, job fairs, and placement training sessions to help both staff and students acquire new skills to adapt to contemporary challenges.
- Mentors and departmental heads will monitor student progress closely, with tailored support provided for both struggling and advanced learners.
- Additionally, provisions will be made to offer training for undergraduate students interested in preparing for WBCS/UPSC examinations.
Criterion 6: Governance, Leadership and Management
- The College shall upgrade the implementation of the e-governance for ensuring secure and transparent procedure in admission, examination, mark entry system, payment of fees for college and hostel, generation of marks /grade cards, results.
- Online admissions for both UG and PG will help the institution to attract students from all over the country and overseas.
- The college shall also strive for overall adherence to global standards and enhance institutional credibility by pursuing external ISO certification of different aspects.
- The college will participate in the NIRF rating system, which will allow it to compare its performance to national norms, receive useful insights for improvement, and boost its reputation and appeal to potential students and faculty.
- It is desired to organize workshop for all the Principals and IQAC Coordinators of the various Colleges of the state on quality parameters.
Criterion 7: Institutional Values and Best Practices
- The college will implement environmentally friendly initiatives, including solar power systems, sensor-based lighting, and measures to reduce carbon emissions.
- The college will optimize the use of its current resources.
- The college will partner with additional NGOs and organize webinars and physical activities to address relevant social issues.
- The college will develop systems and infrastructure to achieve a “Zero Waste” status for the entire campus.
- The college will conduct awareness programs, including invited talks, street plays, public lectures, and other activities to educate and engage young minds.
- The college will work on new strategies to conserve and preserve the region’s rich cultural heritage and enhance its relationship with the local community.
- The college will aim for the holistic development of all stakeholders associated with the institution.
