Faculty incentive policy

Rules

  1. Faculty members of RNLKWC[A] are highly encouraged to write projects, attend prestigious International conferences, publish in reputed indexed journals and involve in consultancy services which willbring visibility of the College at national and international level. The R&D cell will provide all possible help to the individual member showing interest to involve in such activity.
  2. Maximum 2 on-duty (OD) leaves per semester will be sanctioned to individual faculty members for project presentation/ meetings to concerned funding agencies, participating in seminar/conferences with prior & proper adjustment of workload.
  3. Research Incentives to Faculty:
    1. Registration Fee for International Conference:
      1. Faculties of all departments are encouraged to participate in International Conferences subject to screening of the application through Research & Development Committee of the College
      2. This facility if once availed by a faculty member, he/she shall not be able to apply for the next five years. However, if there are no other applicants then such cases may be considered by the Research & Development Cell of the College. All submitted applications within the given stipulated time will be scrutinized through a committee appointed by Principal and Director, R & D cell and finalized for approval/disapproval.
      3. Faculty members who have been invited to deliver Plenary/Keynote lecture in International Conferences can apply.
      4. Faculty members who are going to present papers in International Conferences should have been selected for an oral presentation prior to his/her application. Within a month after returning from the International Conference he/she has to give a seminar in the College which shall be kept open to all interested and notification of the same should be sent by the HoD to all the departments, IQAC, Deputy Registrar [Officiating], Deputy Controller [Officiating], Research & Development Cell of the College and Principal.
      5. A register/record shall be maintained in the R&D center to furnish the details of faculty members presenting papers in conferences who will be given this incentive.
      6. Faculty members shall submit a detailed report on the seminar/conference attended by them to the R & D cell within a month of attending the same.
      7. The Total Fund allocated per year for the purpose is Rs.10,000.00 with a maximum allocation of Rs. 5000.00 for each faculty.
      8. The faculty members are encouraged to apply for TA/DA funding from various funding agencies like CSIR, DST, DBT etc.
    2. Journal Publications:
      1. The publications must be full length papers (short papers, letters to the editoretc. not included) with author’s affiliation of Raja Narendralal Khan Women’s College [Autonomous], Midnapur address published in the journal paper.
      2. In order to encourage the faculties of RNLKWC(A) towards high-quality scientific publications, they will be given incentives for their journal publications as per the following guidelines.
      3. For applications for publication incentives in a certain year, the research papers published within1st January to 31st December of the preceding year shall only be considered.
      4. The journal must be indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI)/Scopus/Web of Science indexed/SCIE /PubMed/UGCCARE list. Faculty members are encouraged to publish papers only in reputed journals and avoid publications in un-listed paidjournals. Faculty will have to submit necessary document indicating the indexed status of the published journal paper with his/her application.
      5. The journal should have impact factor mentioned in Journal Citation Reports of Thomson Reuters prepared by ClarivateTM Analytics. The 5-year impact factor will be considered. Faculty will have to submit necessary document indicating the impact factor by Journal Citation Reports of Thomson Reuters prepared by ClarivateTM Analytics with his/her application.
      6. Only one Publication [having the highest impact factor] per Faculty during the given mentioned time will be considered.
      7. Authors affiliated outside RNLKWC (A) are not entitled for this scheme.
      8. The faculty of RNLKWC(A) asking for incentive must be the corresponding author in the research paper if carried out within the College. However, if the work is carried out as collaborative research with other College/Institute, then the faculty of RNLKWC (A) if she/he gives the affiliation of RNLKWC(A) may also be considered for the incentive.Fullcash amount as per the scheme will be given to the author in a single-authored publication. The amount shall be equally divided among authors for a multi-authored publication on pro rata basis.
      9. For all such papers, wherein a paper is jointly written by a student/research scholar from RNLKWC(A) and a RNLKWC(A) faculty, only RNLKWC(A) faculty will get the incentive as per the policy mentioned above.
      10. In order to encourage the faculty and appreciating the long gap between acceptance andpublication of the paper in acclaimed journals, the research paper published or accepted should be claimed only once (i.e. either at the time when it is accepted–with the submission of acceptance proof–or when it is published).
      11. For the accepted papers, RNLKWC[A] faculty shall have to submit: (a) the copy of the paper, (b)theacceptancemail/proof (c) necessary document indicating the indexed status of the published journal paper (d) necessary document indicating the impact factor by Journal Citation Reports of Thomson Reuters prepared by ClarivateTM Analytics and (e)clearly indicate affiliation to RNLKWC[A].
      12. A faculty should submit the reprint of the journal paper published by him/her, during his/her tenure at the College to the College library for display and to the Research Centre for recordkeeping.
      13. The faculty will be paid the incentives based upon the impact factor (as per Thomson Reuter List)of the Journals in which the research paper has been published.
      14. To avail the incentives the faculty members
        1. Should be confirmed employees of RNLKWC[A]
        2. Should apply in the prescribed format (refer ANNEXURE I) to the R&D Cell with the relevant documents for consideration.
    3. Incentive for obtaining Research Projects:
      1. The incentives will be given to faculties after receipt of the sanction letter and the first installment of sanctioned amount to the college.
      2. Faculties of RNLKWC(A) will be eligible for this incentive either as PI/Co-PI [as per clauses 3 and 4 mentioned below] ONLY WHEN the college receives FULL/PARTIAL project fund with respect to the sanctioned project. If the college receives NO FUND then such cases will not be considered.
      3. The faculty of asking for such incentive must be the Principal Investigator [PI] in the sanctioned project being carried out within the College. If Co-PI of such projects is also from RNLKWC(A), then the incentive amountshallbedividedamongPI and Co-PIs on pro rata basis.
      4. The faculty of RNLKWC(A) asking for such incentive can be the Co-Principal Investigator [Co-PI] in a sanctioned project being carried out outside the College if RNLKWC[A] receives the project funding in case of multi-institutional projects.
      5. Faculties are requested to apply in plain paper and pen clearly mentioning the details of the sanctioned project and the category for which he or she is applying.
      6. The application letter should be accompanied with the project sanction letter and an endorsement letter from the Accountant of the college that the college has received the sanctioned project amount.
    4. Seed Money for Research Project for Faculties of Science Departments and Purchasing Books for Faculties of Humanities and Social Science Departments of the college RNLKWC[A]:
      1. The incentives will be given to faculties of RNLKWC[A] as seed money
      2. The College will provide seed money to kick-start her/his research to Assistant Professors [Stage-I, II and III] based on the quality and impact of the proposed research. Interested faculty can request for seed money provision through the application form given in Annexure II and submit it to R & D cell. All applications will be scrutinized through a committee appointed by Principal and Director, R & D cell and finalized for approval/disapproval.
      3. The design and methodology of research undertaken by a member of staff or student, must besubmitted to R&D Cell for evaluation and approval, especially if legislation, professional councils orinstitutionsaffectedbytheresearchrequire it.
      4. Seed Money for Purchasing Books will be available for all Faculties of Humanities and Social Science Departments.
      5. Faculties of Humanities and Social Science Departments are requested to apply in plain paper and pen for the Seed Money w.r.t Purchasing Books clearly mentioning the details of the books.
      6. The application letter should be accompanied with a small budget head showing the name of the books and the price details.
      7. This facility if once availed by a faculty member, he/she shall not be able to apply for the next five years.
      8. However, if there are no other applicants then such cases may be considered by the Research & Development Cell of the College.
