Code of Conduct

Code of conduct for Faculties

  1. The teacher shall adhere to a responsible pattern of conduct and demeanor expected of him/her by his/her peers and the community. He/she shall respect the right and dignity of the student in expressing his/her opinion and treat other teachers and the non-teaching employees as colleagues and equal partners in a co-operative endeavour for the betterment of the institution.
  2. The teacher shall manage his/her private affairs in a manner consistent with the dignity of the profession and refrain from undertaking any other employment and commitment including private tuitions and coaching classes. He/she shall discharge his/her professional responsibilities according to the existing rules and regulations of the State Government  and UGC, and shall adhere to procedure and methods consistent with these rules, if initiating steps for change of any such rule which he/she feels to be detrimental to the professional interest only after proper intimation to the College authority. He/she shall refrain from availing leave except on unavoidable grounds and as far as practicable with prior intimation, keeping in view the responsibility for completion of academic schedule. He/she shall not address the press or any other person or organization regarding matters related to the institution or his/her service thereof, without permission of the authority .
  3. The teacher shall seek to make professional growth continuous through study, research, publication and active participation at professional meetings, seminars, conferences, faculty development programs etc.
  4. The teacher shall co-operate and assist in carrying out all functions relating to the educational responsibilities of the College and University, including but not limited to, assisting in admission process, advising and counselling students, assisting in the conduct of University and College examinations, including supervision, invigilation and evaluation, and participate in extension, co-curricular and extracurricular activities including community service.
  5. The teacher shall deal justly and impartially with the students regardless of their religion, caste, sex, political, economic, social and physical status and inculcate in them scientific, progressive and rational outlook and respect for physical labour and ideals of democracy, patriotism and community welfare. He/she shall be available to the students even beyond their class hours, recognize the difference in aptitude and capabilities among the students, guide and encourage them in improving their attainments. He/she shall refrain from inciting students against other students, colleagues or administration. He/she shall be unbiased and pay attention to only the merit and attainment of the student in their assessment.
  6. The teacher shall maintain contact with the guardians of the students, send report of their performance to the guardians whenever necessary and meet the guardians in meetings convened for the purpose for mutual exchange of ideas and for the benefit of the institution.
