Balaka Alumni Association
Raja N.L Khan Women’s College has a very vibrant Alumni Association. This association goes by the name Balaka&has a deep bond with the college. It helps to maintain a continuous link between the college and ex-students and maintain a close affinity with all.
Under the supervision of ex-principal Mr. PrabhakarSengupta, Balaka Alumni Association was initiated with a Working Committee of 23 people. The then Principal of the college, Mr. PrabhakarSengupta was selected as President of this association. Dr. SwapnaGhorai was selected as Secretary of theBalaka Alumni Association. In this working committee one renowned doctor, one reputed lawyer, secretary of teacher’s council of the college and secretary of the students union of the college were involved as the well-wisher and advisor of the association. It started with 50 members and currently holds strength of almost 200 life members and about 4500 annual members.
Many of the alumni of this college are well established and working with reputed organizations in abroad and India. Besides these many alumni are serving the society as college faculties, school teachers, nurses, defence etc. They all have been an integral part of this journey and have played an important role.
Balaka Alumni Association regularly organizes seminars, awareness programme and health camps for the benefit of the students. Every year the alumni association organize a day long reunion programme. It offers enough space for the ex-students of this institute to take a wonderful trip down to the memory lane by organizing this union with so much pomp and grandeur. The ex-students of the college organize exhibitions, seminars and cultural programmes to commemorate this day.
In addition to this every year the Alumni Association arranges at least two free health camps, one Blood Donation camp, tree plantation programme and one memorial lecture in loving memory of our first principal Dr.SushilaMondal.
The Balaka Alumni Association had enthusiastically performed a handful programmes throughout the academic session. It also plays a vital role in helping our ex-students by providing self-employment ventures. Various initiations are taken by the association to encourage the ex-students in such ventures.
OUR MOTO :
- To assimilate all ex-students residing at home and abroad.
- To co-relate between present students and ex-students.
- To help cordially for the development of the college and raise sufficient fund for the same.
- To arrange reunion every year.
- To arrange general meeting every year.
- To arrange Dr. SushilaMondal Memorial Lecture every year.
- To organize free health checkup camp for ex-students present students and stuffs.
- To help the poor and meritorious students with financial support.
