About the DepartmentThe department of Physiology was started in this college on 17th July, 1961 with three year course under the affiliation of Calcutta University. The three-year Physiology course was converted to two-year pass course from 1985 under Vidyasagar University. Three-year Honours course was introduced from the year 1991. The two-year pass course was again changed into three-year general course from 1998. CBCS system was introduced in the year 2015. The first batch under the CBCS system passed out in 2018. In the mean time our college got academic autonomy from 2018. PG course in Human Physiology was introduced on 8th August 2016. Performance of the result of the students has been satisfactory with 80% -100% each year; even a few students secured University ranks with gold /silver medals. We encourage rejuvenating, innovative, research and various other activities by Students, Scholars and Teachers of the Department of Physiology towards the achievement of Higher Education and Research with Interdisciplinary Research Activities. We emphasize on collaborations both within the college and with the nearby Institutions like Vidyasagar University, Jadavpur University, Calcutta University, IIT KGP.
