About the DepartmentRaja Narendra Lal Khan Women’s College (Autonomous) was established in 22nd August, 1957 with the aim of empowering the rural women of the undivided Medinipur district by increasing their scope of education. After four year of establishment of college, the subject Chemistry first introduced as a general course in the year 1961. After a long gap, in the year 2002 Chemistry (Honours) was introduced. Our Chemistry department is now a full of well equipped laboratories, experienced teachers and skilled laboratory staffs. Our passed out students glorify the department by absorbing different position such as, Post Doctoral Research Fellow in India and abroad, Assistant Professor, Executive Officer, School Teacher etc. Our recent passed students are doing their Ph.D, integrated Ph.D in different Institute in India and abroad such as IACS (Kolkata), IISER (Kolkata), IITs, different State and Central Universities, NTHU (Taiwan). Almost our entire pass out students takes their PG admission in different IITs, IACS (Kolkata), NITs, VIT and also different State and Central Universities and their approved Colleges. Beyond student result, this department arranges different types of activity and enrichment program such as Outreach, Science day Observation, Science Exhibition, Student seminar, special lecture (National and International), Seminar (National and International) for student motivation and interaction with different types of professional person. Most of our student also enjoys different type of fellowship/scholarship. |
